You have registered for the first edition of the Haute Route, the new multi-stage cyclosportive between Geneva and Nice, racing across 15 mythical cols of the Alps. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for joining us and we are very much looking forward to see you in Geneva on the 20th August 2011. We have over 20 nationalities already entered, with people coming from all over the world to take on this great challenge.

Focus on… the 1st stage Geneva - Megève, Sunday 21st August 2011
Sunday 21st August 2011, 7:30 in the morning, there will be hundreds of you at the start of the first edition of the Haute Route. The start will be in the Jardin Anglais, on the edge of the lake and near the famous Geneva water jet. The peloton will leave as a secured convoy, cycling along Lake Geneva through the stunning Geneva countryside. You will then enter French territory in Ville-la-Grand.
The race will be timed from Bonne in Haute-Savoie, France. You will cycle past Saint Jeoire and reach Marnaz at the bottom of the first big challenge of the Haute Route 2011, the Col de la Colombière. Then a fast descent towards the Grand Bornand before climbing the Col des Aravis. The final part of this first stage takes you through Val d’Arly, after passing through Flumet, before reeling in the last 10 kilometres of the day which is a gentle climb, and cross the finish line in Megève, after 109 km on the saddle!

• Start in Geneva, Jardin Anglais, 7:30
• Arrive in Megève, Palais des Sports, between 11:15 and 14:35
• 109 km in total, 90 km timed
• 2200 meters of total ascent / 1500 meters of descent
The 2 cols of the 1st day
• Col de la Colombière, 1613 meters, summit 64 km from the start
• Col des Aravis, 1486 meters, summit 89 km from the start
