
Focus on… the 2nd stage Megève- Les Arc 1800, Monday 22nd August 2011
Stage 2 of the Haute Route will start in Megève in front of the Palais des Sports on Monday 22nd August at 8am. You will leave as a secured convoy in Val d’Arly and the real start (timing starts) will be given 6 kilometres later when the road forks off towards the Col des Saisies. Once at the summit, the peloton will enter the Beaufortain before tackling the main difficulty of the day, the sumptuous Cormet de Roselend. Save some energy as after the descent leading to Bourg-Saint-Maurice (Haute-Tarentaise), you will brave the 20km ascent all the way to Les Arcs 1800.

• Start from Megève, on Monday 22nd August at 8am.
• Arrive in Les Arcs 1800, Centre Bernard Taillefer, between 11h30 and 15h00
• 103km overall, 97km timed
• 3000 metres ascent / 2300 metres descent
3 cols and ascents on the menu of Stage 2
• Col des Saisies, 1650 meters, summit 24 km from the start
• Col du Cormet de Roselend, 1967 meters, summit 61 km from the start
• Final ascent between Bourg-Saint-Maurice and Les Arcs 1800 (20 km)
